A Fairway police officer was tragically killed in the line of duty on Sunday, August 6th, while responding to a suspected car theft.
Jonah Oswald’s Cause Of Death
Officer Jonah Oswald, a four-year veteran of the department, was shot and critically injured during a shootout with two suspects. He succumbed to his injuries on the following Monday.
The loss of Officer Oswald has left the Fairway community in shock and mourning. He was a dedicated officer who was well-respected and beloved by his colleagues and the community. His death is a reminder of the dangers that law enforcement officers face every day in the line of duty.

The two suspects in the shooting, Shannon Wayne Marshall and Andrea Rene Cothran were arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Marshall was also pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
