David Toth, a doctor and Disney enthusiast, died peacefully on April 8, 2022, at the age of 77. He was known for his love of travel, classical music, and his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Toth was born on September 22, 1945, in Granite City, Illinois. He graduated co-valedictorian from Granite City Senior High School in 1963 and went on to earn a degree in German and chemistry from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana in 1967. He then received his M.D. from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

After completing his medical training, Toth joined the Air Force and served as a medical officer at Rhein-Main Air Base in Frankfurt, Germany; Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio; Brooks AFB in Texas; Mather AFB in Sacramento, California; and Lackland AFB in Texas. He retired from the Air Force with the rank of Lt. Colonel in 1978.

After leaving the Air Force, Toth settled in San Antonio, Texas, where he worked as a doctor at the V.A. Hospital. He retired from medicine in 2010.

Toth was a passionate traveler and loved to visit new places. He was also a big fan of Disney and had visited all of the Disney parks in the world. He also enjoyed classical music, opera, and literature.

Toth was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, Andrew; daughter-in-law, Becky; grandson, Cooper; and ex-wife, Pamela Kafka Toth.

Toth’s family will hold a private funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Volkssport Association, a non-profit organization that promotes walking and hiking.
