
Gilbert mourns loss of former baseball player Hudson Schirra
The Gilbert High School baseball community is grieving the loss of former player Hudson Schirra, who passed away in a car accident on Saturday, October 21.
Schirra was a member of the Gilbert baseball team from 2020 to 2022. He was a well-liked and respected member of the team, and his teammates and coaches are deeply saddened by his passing.
“Hudson was a great teammate and a joy to coach,” said Gilbert baseball coach John Smith. “He was always positive and upbeat, and he always had a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.”
Schirra’s death is a tragedy for the Gilbert community. He was a bright young man with a promising future, and his loss will be felt by many.
The Gilbert baseball team will be holding a memorial service for Schirra on Tuesday, October 24, at 7:00 PM at Gilbert High School. The public is welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Gilbert High School baseball program.
