Pinson Valley High School is mourning the loss of one of its brightest stars, Caleb White, who passed away suddenly on Thursday afternoon.

White, a senior at the school, was reportedly experiencing a medical emergency during a morning school session. Despite immediate efforts to save his life, he was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead upon arrival.
The school’s principal, Michael Turner, released a statement expressing the school’s grief and offering support to both students and staff.
White’s grandfather, George Varnadoe Jr., shared on social media that the 17-year-old collapsed while working out with his basketball team. Varnadoe described Caleb as an exceptional student, a role model, and an incredibly talented basketball player.
Caleb was ranked the 25th-best point guard in the nation and the 2nd best in the state of Alabama. He was not only a gifted athlete but also a high-performing student.
The community, including Pinson Mayor Joe Cochran, expressed their grief over the loss. Mayor Cochran remembered Caleb’s spirit and encouraged everyone to cherish each day.
Caleb’s basketball coach, Darrell Barber, has not yet commented on the tragic event. His silence echoes the profound impact of Caleb’s sudden passing on the sports community.
