Chelsea star Lewis Hall is a chip off the old block, with his dad Colin a former Newcastle United player.

The versatile midfielder-cum-left-back, who made his Premier League debut against the Magpies in January 2023, was born in Slough to Geordie’s parents.

His dad Colin, 74, was a right winger who played for the Toon Army between 1967 and 1970, making 53 appearances.

He also had spells with Bradford City, Bristol City, and Hereford United, and later played non-League football for Bath City.

Lewis’s older brother Connor is also a footballer and currently plays for National League side Solihull Moors.

The Halls are a tight-knit family, and Lewis has said that his parents have been a huge inspiration to him.

“My dad played football, so he’s always been there to give me advice,” he said. “And my mum has always been there to support me, no matter what.”

Lewis is now making a name for himself at Chelsea, and he is sure to have a bright future in the game.

But he will never forget his Geordie roots, and he will always be a Toon fan at heart.
