Devon Archer, a longtime friend and business associate of Hunter Biden, is set to testify before the House Oversight Committee. The upcoming testimony is expected to shed light on various foreign ventures he worked on and the alleged involvement of President Biden in these business dealings.
Devon Archer Association with Hunter Biden
Devon Archer’s association with Hunter Biden dates back several years, with their first notable collaboration being on the board of Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings in 2014.
During this time, he also co-founded the investment firm Rosemont Seneca alongside Hunter Biden and Christopher Heinz, the stepson of Climate Envoy John Kerry. This partnership later led to the establishment of BHR Partners, a joint venture with a Chinese investment firm called Bohai Capital, controlled by Bank of China Limited.
Archer’s business ventures weren’t without controversy. In May 2016, he was compelled to resign from BHR Partners when he became the subject of a federal investigation.
Subsequently, in February 2022, he faced legal consequences and was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for defrauding a Native American tribal entity and several investment advisory clients, involving tens of millions of dollars in fraudulent bond issuance and deceptive practices.
The upcoming testimony by Devon Archer before the House Oversight Committee is eagerly anticipated, as he is expected to provide insights into meetings he witnessed that involved both Bidens—Joe and Hunter.
These meetings supposedly took place between 2009 and 2017 when Joe Biden served as Vice President. Archer will reportedly reveal how Hunter would introduce his father to foreign business partners and potential investors, either in person or via telephone.
Archer’s testimony assumes particular significance due to the allegations of Joe and Hunter Biden’s involvement in Ukrainian gas firm Burisma. It is alleged that they coerced the CEO, Mykola Zlochevsky, into paying them millions of dollars to influence the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor investigating the company.
These allegations were part of an unclassified FBI FD-1023 form and have been the subject of public scrutiny.
The House Oversight Committee has been actively investigating the Bidens to ascertain if they used Joe Biden’s influence as Vice President to secure foreign business deals.
The committee is also looking into what they refer to as “corrupt” business practices within the Biden family. Archer’s expected testimony adds weight to these investigations and may have far-reaching implications.
