A former Missouri nurse has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for the murders of two patients.
Jennifer Hall, 52, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of Fern Franco, 75, and David Wesley Harper, 37. She also pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree assault.
The victims died at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe over several months in 2002. Hall was a respiratory therapist at the hospital at the time.
Prosecutors said Hall gave the victims morphine and a powerful muscle relaxant, neither of which had been prescribed to them. She also failed to provide them with the necessary medical care.
“This is a sentence 20 years in the making,” said Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren. “We are all relieved that she is finally behind bars.”
Hall had previously denied any involvement in the deaths. She is eligible for parole after serving 12 years of her sentence.
