Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr. are suing Dr. Tracey St. Julian, accusing her of decapitating their baby during delivery.
Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr. have filed a lawsuit against Dr. Tracey St. Julian and Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia.
The lawsuit alleges that their baby was decapitated during delivery and that efforts were made to hide the incident.
The delivery took place on July 9 at Southern Regional Medical Center. During the vaginal delivery, the baby’s shoulders became stuck, and the situation became challenging.
Dr. Tracey St. Julian, the attending physician, is accused of delaying a necessary C-section procedure and applying excessive force on the baby’s head and neck in an attempt to deliver it vaginally. This caused significant distress to the baby and the mother, Jessica Ross.
The C-section procedure was eventually performed three-and-a-half hours later, at 12:11 am, resulting in the delivery of the baby’s body and legs. The baby’s head, however, was delivered vaginally.
Upon demanding to see and hold their child, Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr. found the baby wrapped tightly in a blanket, with the head propped on top of the body to give the appearance that it was still attached. The couple later discovered the decapitation at the funeral home.
The lawsuit claims that Dr. St. Julian did not inform Ross and her family about the decapitation when she spoke to them around 5 a.m. on July 10. This lack of disclosure added to the emotional distress experienced by the couple.
The grieving couple accuses the hospital of attempting to cover up the incident. They were discouraged from getting an autopsy and encouraged to have their son cremated, which further raised suspicions about the hospital’s actions.
The lawsuit seeks compensation for the suffering, death of the baby, and the immense mental and physical anguish endured by Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr.
Attorney Cory Lynch expressed that the couple’s joy over the birth of their first child turned into a nightmare that was concealed by Southern Regional Medical Center. The couple’s dreams were shattered by the unfortunate events surrounding their child’s delivery.
